Former UGM Student Body Chairman Tiyo Ardianto Finds Tracking Device on His Car Again

Former Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Student Executive Body (BEM) chairman Tiyo Ardianto has once again found a PBX Finder tracking device attached to his car on Sunday afternoon, 14 June 2026. The discovery was shared by Tiyo in the caption of his Instagram account, @tiyoardianto_, on the same day. Tiyo said the flat, circular device was found attached to the right rear tyre. The device was detected after Tiyo received a notification on his mobile phone on Sunday afternoon. “I found this while on my way to Jenderal Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang to depart for Makassar,” Tiyo said in his post. Tiyo also uploaded a screenshot of the notification on his phone. The notification stated that a PBX Finder was found moving with him. Tiyo said he wrote about the discovery upon arriving in Makassar. He will provide the full information later. “We will not stop here. We will not stop today. The more terrorised we are, the louder we become,” said Tiyo. Tiyo had not responded to Tempo’s messages regarding the discovery of the device at the time this report was written. Previously, the 2025 UGM BEM chairman also found a tracking device named PBX Finder under the chassis of the car he was riding in. This incident was discovered by Tiyo shortly after participating in a demonstration with student elements and civil movements in Gejayan, Yogyakarta, on Saturday, 13 June 2026. “I just realised there was an important and urgent notification, namely that a tracking device called PBX Finder was found moving with me,” he said in an Instagram post caption. Upon receiving the notification, Tiyo immediately checked parts of his car. One tracking device was found by Tiyo underneath the car. He said the car belonged to his relative and he had borrowed it because he felt less safe travelling recently. “I do not know who installed the tracking device,” said the UGM undergraduate Philosophy student. Tiyo then informed several people closest to him about the incident. They, he said, directed him to soak the tracking device in water. Tiyo stated that the suspected stalking using a tracking device by an unknown person was abnormal. He highlighted the way the ruling regime often terrorises citizens who criticise government policy. Recently, Tiyo received news from his colleagues at BEM UGM who were also harassed through messages from an unknown sender. Tiyo said dozens of messages had been received by his friends from the same number since 13 June 2026. “It has not been tallied exactly how many, but there could be around 30,” he said.
