Former Transport Minister Budi Karya Fails to Attend KPK Summons for the Second Time Regarding the DJKA Case
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has rescheduled the examination of former Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi for the second time. Budi will be questioned in connection with the alleged corruption case surrounding railway construction within the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA).
The KPK will summon Budi Karya again next week. In this summons, Budi Karya remains a witness.
“For the time being, the examination is confirmed to take place next week. So we are still waiting for the examination,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Wednesday (February 25, 2026).
The KPK initially summoned Budi Karya for questioning on February 18, 2026. However, Budi Karya did not attend, citing other activities. Then, Budi Karya again failed to attend the KPK summons today.
“Mr. BKS, in the scheduling, requested that it be rescheduled, so currently the investigators are still coordinating, and we are still waiting,” said Budi.
Based on this, the KPK appealed to all witnesses who will be examined to be cooperative by attending the investigator’s summons and providing the necessary information.
Budi Karya is scheduled to be examined for the suspect, the former Director of Railway Infrastructure at the DJKA, Harno Trimadi.
“So that effectively, the case can be revealed clearly,” said Budi.
