Former Trade Minister Rachmat Gobel Passes Away

Sad news has come from the world of national politics and business. Rachmat Gobel was reported to have passed away in the early hours of Friday (10/7/2026).

The information was conveyed directly by his extended family through an official statement received by the editorial team.

Rachmat Gobel took his final breath at 03:20 WIB at Brawijaya Hospital in Tebet, South Jakarta.

“With full sincerity and deep sorrow, we, the extended family of Mr Rachmat Gobel, announce that Mr Rachmat Gobel has returned to the mercy of Allah,” the family wrote in its official statement on Friday (10/7/2026).

The family also asked the wider public for prayers so that any of the late man’s wrongdoings during his lifetime may be forgiven.

“We ask for the prayers of all fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters, that Allah SWT may forgive all of his sins and shortcomings, accept his good deeds, widen his resting place, and place him in the finest position at His side,” the statement continued.

In addition, the family expressed hope that all relatives and family members left behind would be given strength and fortitude in facing this difficult period.

“May Allah SWT grant strength, patience and sincerity to the entire family he leaves behind. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un,” concluded the representative of Rachmat Gobel’s extended family.
