Former TNI chief launches journal

JAKARTA: The Center for National Strategy Research (PPSN), an
institute established by former TNI chief Adm. (ret) Widodo A.S.,
launched on Tuesday its biannual journal Nasion, which covers
various issues on democratization and nation building.

Present at the launch were senior military officers, including
former TNI chief of general affairs Lt. Gen. (ret) Djamari
Chaniago and former TNI chief of territorial affairs Lt. Gen.
(ret) Agus Widjojo, as well as several political observers, such
as Daniel Sparringa of Surabaya-based Airlangga University and
Muslim scholar Komaruddin Hidayat.

The PPSN was established on July 15, 2003 by Widodo, along
with Juwono Sudarsono, the current Indonesian Ambassador to
Britain and former defense minister. -- JP
