Former Sleman Police Chief Transferred to Indonesian National Police Legal Division
Former Sleman Police Resort Chief Kombes Edy Setyanto Erning Wibowo has been transferred to the Legal Division (Divkum) of the Indonesian National Police. This transfer came after Edy was imposed with a demotion sanction following the Hogi Minaya case.
The transfer was outlined in a police chief telegram numbered ST/440//II/KEP./2026 dated 27 February 2026.
In the transfer, the position of Sleman Police Resort Chief is now held by Kombes Adhitya Panji Anom, who previously served as Propam Accreditor at the Third Grade Middle Police Propam Division.
“Personnel transfers and position rotations within the police force are a normal matter as part of career development, organisational renewal, and to improve the performance and professionalism of members in providing the best service to the community,” said Police Public Relations Division Chief Irjen Jhonny Eddison Isir in his statement.
It is known that former Sleman Police Resort Chief Kombes Edy Setyanto was imposed with a demotion sanction based on a Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) hearing held on Thursday (26/2). This sanction was given for handling the Hogi Minaya case, who became a suspect after defending his wife from a mugging.
The Head of the DIY Police Public Relations Division, Kombes Ihsan, stated that based on the results of the disciplinary hearing, it was decided that Edy would be imposed with two sanctions: first, a written warning, and second, a demotion transfer involving removal from his position.
“We must emphasise that the process carried out was a disciplinary hearing, not an ethics code hearing nor a criminal process, as the substance of the investigation concerned managerial aspects and supervisory responsibility,” Ihsan said in his statement on Friday (27/2) evening.
Ihsan ensured that the hearing, chaired by the DIY Police Inspector of Internal Affairs Kombes Pol I Gusti Ngurah Rai Mahaputra, was conducted in accordance with procedures and applicable regulations within the police force.
The traffic accident that led police to make Hogi a suspect occurred on Jalan Solo, Maguwoharjo, Sleman, Yogyakarta on 26 April 2025. The victims, identified as RDA and RS, were residents of Pagar Alam, South Sumatra, and were the muggers who targeted Hogi’s wife, Arsita (39).
Police revealed that Hogi, who was driving a car at the time, saw his wife on a motorcycle being robbed. Hogi then chased and rammed the perpetrators’ vehicle, causing an accident that killed the two perpetrators.
In this case, Hogi was charged under Article 310 paragraph 4 and Article 311 of the Road Traffic and Transportation Law (UU LLAJ) Number 22 of 2009.
The Sleman District Prosecutor’s Office has announced the termination of the Hogi Minaya case, who was previously a suspect after defending his wife from muggers.
“Further, given the provisions in Article 65 letter m of Law Number 20 of 2025 concerning the Criminal Procedure Code and the provisions of Article 34 of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, the case is closed in the interest of justice,” said Sleman District Prosecutor Head Bambang Yunianto.
“I reiterate, the case is closed in the interest of justice on behalf of the suspect Adhe Pressly Hogiminaya bin Cornelius Suhardi,” he added.
