Former Minister of Religious Affairs (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (YCQ) attended a scheduled investigation summons from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today. Yaqut denied KPK claims that he had requested a postponement of today’s examination.

Monitored by detikcom at the KPK’s Red and White building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Thursday (12 March 2026), Yaqut arrived at 13:05 local time. He came accompanied by his legal advisory team.

Yaqut arrived wearing a white shirt over which he wore a jacket and a black peci (traditional Indonesian hat). Upon arriving at the KPK building, Yaqut made few statements. However, he denied having requested a postponement of today’s examination.

“Yes, I am attending the summons from the KPK investigator. Bismillah. There is no such thing (requesting postponement of the examination),” Yaqut told journalists at the location.

It is known that Yaqut’s summons today was issued by the KPK following a judge at the South Jakarta District Court (PN Jaksel) completely rejecting a pre-trial lawsuit filed by Yaqut regarding his suspect status in a hajj quota corruption case.

The judge stated that the KPK’s designation of Yaqut as a suspect had complied with applicable procedures and regulations. The judge stated that the scope of pre-trial examination only assessed formal aspects.

“The petitioner’s pre-trial application is rejected in its entirety,” said single judge Sulistyo Muhamad Dwi Putro when reading the judgment of pre-trial case number 19/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (11 March).
