Former Puteri Indonesia Finalist Arrested Over Illegal Facelift Resulting in Permanent Disfigurement
Former Puteri Indonesia finalist Jeni Rahmadial Fitri has been arrested by the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of Riau Provincial Police on suspicion of medical malpractice. Jeni is alleged to have carried out an illegal facelift procedure that resulted in the victim suffering permanent disfigurement.
“The suspect is suspected of performing medical procedures without competence and without authority as a medical professional. From the investigation results, the actions taken instead caused serious impacts on the victims,” said Dirkrimsus of Riau Provincial Police, Kombes Ade Kuncoro Wahyu, in his statement on Wednesday (29/4/2026), as reported by detikNews.
The case came to light after one victim, with initials NS, reported to Riau Provincial Police. NS claimed to have suffered facial damage after undergoing a facelift and eyebrow facelift procedure at Arauna Beauty Clinic, Jalan Tengku Bey, Pekanbaru, on 4 July 2025.
Instead of achieving the expected treatment results, NS experienced severe bleeding and serious infection on her face and head after the procedure at the clinic.
“The victim suffered pus-filled wounds, serious swelling, and had to undergo further treatment and surgery at several health facilities in Batam,” said Ade.
As a result of the procedure, the victim sustained permanent disfigurement in the form of scarring on the scalp that prevents hair regrowth and elongated wounds in the eyebrow area.
Arrested in West Sumatra
During the investigation, investigators issued two summonses for examination to Jeni. However, the individual failed to comply with the summonses.
“The individual evaded two examination summonses,” he added.
After a series of investigations, witness and expert examinations, the case was officially elevated to the investigation stage on 26 February 2026. Police then tracked and arrested Jeni at her family’s home in the Bukit Ambacang area, Bukittinggi City, West Sumatra, on Tuesday (28/4).
Designated as Suspect
Jeni was then intensively examined at Riau Provincial Police Headquarters. She has now been officially designated as a suspect.
“On 28 April 2026, the individual’s status was officially elevated from witness to suspect after investigators found more than two valid pieces of evidence,” Ade emphasised.
Currently, Jeni has been brought to Pekanbaru for further examination. For her actions, Jeni is charged under Article 439 of the Health Law.
