Former Pertamina officer in custody

BATAM, Riau Islands: A former senior marketing officer with state
oil and gas company PT Pertamina's Batam branch has been detained
by the Batam Prosecutor's Office since Thursday for his role in
alleged fuel smuggling.

The officer, Waluyo, is being charged for colluding with fuel
smugglers to take fuel out of the port while working for
Pertamina Batam from last year until June.

Chief prosecutor Chuck Soeryosumpeno said Waluyo was taken
into custody after being questioned for eight hours on Wednesday.
