Former Nurse Kidnaps Baby from Hospital in Medan; Two Suspects Arrested

Two women kidnapped a baby boy from RSU Sundari Medan, located on Jalan Simatupang, Medan Sunggal District, Medan, North Sumatra. One of the perpetrators is a former nurse at the hospital.

The Head of Criminal Investigation at Medan City Police, AKBP Adrian Risky Lubis, stated that the two suspects are identified by the initials A and P. The former nurse at the hospital is A.

“One of them used to be a nurse and worked there. The other suspect is still under investigation,” said Adrian, as reported by detikSumut on Wednesday (2/9/2026).

Adrian noted that the incident occurred on Monday (31/8). During the event, A entered the hospital and kidnapped the baby, while suspect P waited on a motorcycle in front of the hospital.

After taking the baby, the perpetrators fled the scene. The baby’s mother, who later realised her child had been kidnapped, immediately contacted the police.

Adrian stated that the police immediately investigated the information and arrested both suspects. Both individuals have now been officially named as suspects.

“Suspect A was the one who took the baby. The other suspect waited outside the hospital and was the driver of the motorcycle,” he explained.
