Former National Police Chiefs Attend 80th Bhayangkara Day Ceremony
The Indonesian National Police (Polri) held a commemoration for the 80th Bhayangkara Day at the Brimob Training Centre in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, today. The ceremony was led by President Prabowo Subianto and attended by a number of former National Police chiefs.
The former police chiefs were greeted by President Prabowo during the ceremony on Wednesday (1/7/2026). The event was also attended by senior state officials, including the Speaker of the House of Representatives Puan Maharani, the Speaker of the Regional Representative Council Sultan Bachtiar Nadjamudin, coordinating ministers, ministers, the Attorney General, the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, and the former police chiefs.
The list of former police chiefs present at the 80th Bhayangkara Day ceremony included: Jenderal (Purn) Rusman Hadi (1988-2000), Jenderal (Purn) Bimantoro (2000-2001), Jenderal (Purn) Da’i Bachtiar (2001-2005), Jenderal (Purn) Sutanto (2005-2008), Jenderal (Purn) Bambang Hendarso Danuri (2008-2010), Jenderal (Purn) Timur Pradopo (2010-2013), Jenderal (Purn) Sutarman (2013-2015), Jenderal (Purn) Badrodin Haiti (2015-2016), and Jenderal (Purn) M Tito Karnavian (2016-2019).
The ceremony was also attended by ambassadors from friendly nations and police attachés, as well as leaders of community and religious organisations.
“And I am proud of all members of the Indonesian National Police, wherever you may be,” President Prabowo said in his address.
On the occasion, President Prabowo also wished a happy 80th Bhayangkara Day to all members of the police force. “On behalf of the government of the Republic of Indonesia and all the Indonesian people, I wish a happy 80th Bhayangkara Day to the entire extended family of the Indonesian National Police, wherever you are serving,” he said.
