Former National Nutrition Agency Head Dadan Hindayana Picked Up by Attorney General's Office; Palace Urges Public to Wait for Legal Proceedings

The Presidential Palace has finally addressed circulating reports regarding the pick-up of the former Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, alongside two former Deputy Heads, Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus and Sony Sanjaya. Amidst the widespread information, the government has requested that the public allow law enforcement agencies the space to conduct the ongoing process.

This statement was delivered by the State Secretary, Prasetyo Hadi, following a search conducted by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) at the BGN office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, 3 June 2026. “Regarding the information circulating from this morning until midday, first and foremost, let us give the opportunity to law enforcement agencies to carry out their duties,” Prasetyo stated in an audio briefing.

Prasetyo neither confirmed nor denied reports claiming that Dadan Hindayana, Lodewijk Freidrich Paulus, and Sony Sanjaya had been picked up since the early hours of the morning. He emphasised that the government has chosen to await the results of the process currently being undertaken by law enforcement. “We shall all see and await the results together,” he added.

According to Prasetyo, whatever process is underway should be viewed as part of the effort to improve government governance and strengthen the accountability of state institutions. “This is certainly part of the process to reiterate our shared commitment to always strive to improve governance and management across all levels of government,” he said.

He further noted that these improvement efforts are not limited to a specific institution but are the responsibility of all ministries and state agencies. “It is our responsibility, as we carry out government duties and daily tasks, to continuously avoid anything that violates norms, especially legal norms,” Prasetyo continued.

Previously, information circulated suggesting that Dadan Hindayana and two former Deputy Heads of the BGN were picked up by authorities amidst a search conducted by the Attorney General’s Office at the BGN office. However, as of now, there has been no official statement from the Attorney General’s Office confirming these reports. The Acting Head of the Legal Information Centre of the Attorney General’s Office, Jefri, only confirmed that a search activity took place at the BGN office on Wednesday afternoon.
