Former Narcotics Unit Chief Transferred to National Police Criminal Bureau Following Arrest of Drug Supplier Ko Erwin
Former Chief of the Narcotics Reserse Unit (Kasatresnarkoba) of Bima City Police, AKP Malaungi, has been transferred to the National Police Criminal Bureau (Bareskrim). Malaungi was flown there following the arrest of Erwin Iskandar, alias Ko Erwin, a supplier who allegedly provided Malaungi with nearly half a kilogram of methamphetamine for distribution to Sumbawa Island, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
NTB Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Edy Murbowo, confirmed that Malaungi was transferred to Bareskrim. “There is a joint investigation from Polda NTB and Bareskrim,” said Edy on Friday, 27 February 2026.
Malaungi was flown to Bareskrim through Lombok International Airport around 11:00 local time. According to Edy, Malaungi was brought to the National Police Headquarters to clarify the case being handled by Bareskrim and Polda NTB.
“To make this clearer. To clarify each person’s role. It will be further investigated by Bareskrim and Polda NTB,” Edy explained.
Malaungi has been designated as a suspect in a drug trafficking case that also involves former Bima City Police Chief AKBP Didik Kuncoro. Investigation results revealed the role of a dealer named Ko Erwin.
Ko Erwin allegedly gave one billion rupiah to Didik Putra Kuncoro to facilitate his illicit business. Subsequently, Ko Erwin supplied 488 grams of methamphetamine to Malaungi for distribution to Sumbawa Island.
In addition to Ko Erwin, Didik also allegedly received funds from a methamphetamine dealer named Boy totalling 1.8 billion rupiah. Boy remains a target of police pursuit.
In addition to being designated a suspect at Polda NTB, Didik is also a suspect at Bareskrim for possession of methamphetamine and psychotropic substances. “A joint investigation will be conducted there to collaborate on solving the case to make things clearer,” Edy said.
Edy expressed gratitude that Ko Erwin had been apprehended. “Praise be to God. So Friday was full of blessings. Allah approves of our efforts. I received information that Bareskrim has secured Ko Erwin,” he said.
According to Edy, further investigation is being conducted by the Bareskrim team. Polda NTB is currently awaiting the results of follow-up action being conducted by Bareskrim.
“Bareskrim will surely release the results later. Let us wait,” said the two-star general.
Polda NTB, Edy continued, will certainly conduct questioning of Ko Erwin. Given that the cases connected to Ko Erwin are also being handled.
“Once questioning is completed there (Bareskrim), it will certainly be conducted here (Polda NTB) as well,” Edy said.
