Former Narcotics Chief of Bima Police Applies as Justice Collaborator, Ready to Expose Drug Network
Mataram – Malaungi, the former head of the narcotics division at Bima City Police in West Nusa Tenggara, has applied to become a justice collaborator in a drug trafficking case being handled by the West Nusa Tenggara Provincial Police Narcotics Directorate (Ditresnarkoba Polda NTB).
“Today we are submitting the JC application to Polda NTB regarding the drug case involving our client, Malaungi,” said Dr Asmuni, Malaungi’s legal representative, at a press conference in Mataram on Friday.
According to him, Malaungi’s application as a justice collaborator (JC) or perpetrator witness cooperating with law enforcement officials is already evident in the investigation series that has exposed the network of Koko Erwin, also known as Erwin Iskandar, as well as former Bima City Police Chief Didik Putra Kuncoro.
“Our client has disclosed everything – what happened, from receiving money to identifying who possessed the goods – everything has been laid bare with complete transparency. This is one of the essential conditions for the JC status,” he stated.
Based on this, Asmuni is confident that Malaungi’s JC application will be accepted by Polda NTB as the investigating authority. He is optimistic about this legal step because his team has already communicated with Polda NTB beforehand.
“The final decision rests with Polda NTB. However, the grounds for the JC application are clearly documented in the examination minutes,” he said.
Asmuni also commended the performance of Polda NTB working together with the National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) in following up on his client’s disclosures, which have successfully dismantled the methamphetamine trafficking network in the Bima region.
“As we know, the number of suspects has increased and all have been exposed and detained. Alhamdulillah, this is thanks to the hard work of Mabes Polri and Polda NTB, which has successfully dismantled the drug kingpins in Bima. It is an achievement accomplished through a sustained and professional operation, and we appreciate their efforts,” Asmuni said.
The Head of the Public Relations Division of Polda NTB, Senior Police Commissioner Mohamma Kholid, when contacted regarding Malaungi’s JC application in the drug case, has not yet provided a response, either through telephone or written message via WhatsApp.
