Former Nadiem Consultant Ibam Faces Verdict Hearing in Chromebook Case Today
Compiled by detikcom on Tuesday (12/5/2026), the hearing will be held at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Jalan Bungur Raya, Central Jakarta. At the hearing on Tuesday, 28 April, the chief judge Purwanto S Abdullah stated that the verdict hearing would take place today.
“The panel of judges requires time to prepare this decision and has postponed the reading of the verdict for two weeks, yes, on 12 May 2026,” Purwanto said.
In the hearing held on Thursday (16/4), Ibam was previously prosecuted for 15 years in prison, a fine of Rp1 billion subsidiary 190 days of imprisonment. The prosecutor also demanded that Ibam pay restitution of Rp16.92 billion subsidiary 7 years and 6 months in prison.
The prosecutor believes Ibam is guilty of violating Article 603 jo. Article 20 of the Criminal Code jo. Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended and supplemented by Law Number 20 of 2001.
Aggravating factors for the defendant’s prosecution do not support the government’s programme in organising a clean and free state from Corruption, Collusion, and Nepotism (KKN). “Mitigating factors, the defendants have never been punished before,” said the Public Prosecutor at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday (16/4).
Ibam has also currently been designated as a city detainee because he has a history of chronic heart disease. Ibam has been fitted with an electronic device (detector) to monitor his movements.
“Suspect IBAM has been fitted by us with a device called a bracelet to detect the whereabouts of the person in question. Since he is not detained temporarily due to illness, city detention,” said Head of Public Relations of the Attorney General’s Office Anang Supriatna to reporters at the Attorney General’s Office Complex, South Jakarta, on Thursday (17/7/2025).
