Former Minister Sudirman Said Re-examined in Petral Corruption Case

Former Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Minister Sudirman Said visited the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) in South Jakarta on Friday morning for further questioning. He stated that he was being examined as a witness in connection with the alleged corruption case involving crude oil and finished product procurement at Pertamina Energy Trading Limited (Petral).

Sudirman and his entourage arrived at the Kejagung’s Round Building at approximately 09:08 WIB. ‘It is an invitation to provide information. It appears to still be related to the Petral matter,’ he told reporters at the scene. When asked if he was being questioned as a witness, he replied, ‘Yes, what else.’

This marks the third time Sudirman Said has been examined regarding this case. He was previously questioned on Tuesday, 23 December 2025 and Monday, 19 January 2026.

The Attorney General’s Office is currently investigating the alleged corruption in crude oil and refinery product procurement by Petral. Seven individuals have been named as suspects in the case, including:

1. BBG, Commercial Manager of the Marketing and Commerce Directorate at PT Pertamina;

2. AGS, Head of Trading at Pertamina Energy Services (PES) for the 2012-2014 period;

3. MLY, Senior Trader at Petral for the 2009-2015 period;

4. NRD;

5. TFK, VP of ISC at PT Pertamina;

6. MRC, the Beneficial Owner of several companies participating in the tender;

7. IRW, Director of companies owned by MRC.
