Former Minister of Religious Affairs (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (YCQ) was questioned again today. The examination took place after he reverted to the status of a detainee at the KPK detention centre.

Observations by detikcom at the Merah Putih building of the KPK in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (25/3/2026), showed Yaqut arriving at 1:20 PM WIB. Upon arrival, Yaqut only offered apologies for any offences, both physical and spiritual, to the journalists who posed various questions to him.

“Mohon maaf lahir dan batin. Ja’alanallahu wa iyyakum minal ’aidin wal faizin,” said Yaqut as he was about to enter the lobby of the Merah Putih KPK building.

Previously, Yaqut was returned to the KPK detention centre because he was scheduled to be questioned by investigators today. “It has been scheduled; there is a request for information from the individual,” said KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu, as quoted on Wednesday (25/3).

It is known that Yaqut has been detained again at the KPK detention centre since Tuesday (24/3). Yaqut was returned to detention after undergoing health tests following a temporary transfer to house arrest.

Yaqut’s detention was switched to house arrest since Thursday (19/3). KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that house arrest for Yaqut was implemented after KPK received a request from his family.

KPK then approved the request without providing further details on the family’s reasons for submitting it. “It was indeed because of a request from the family, which we then processed. Not because of illness,” explained Budi on Sunday (22/3).
