Former Youth and Sports Minister (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo looked strikingly different during his examination at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, appearing noticeably slimmer. Dito was questioned as a witness in the alleged corruption case involving hajj quotas at the Ministry of Religious Affairs for the 2023-2024 period. He claimed he brought nothing with him. “This summons is related to the hajj case. I didn’t bring anything,” Dito said on Tuesday morning (30/6/2026). Dito was previously examined by the KPK on 23 January 2026, where he was questioned by investigators for three hours. He was examined regarding his knowledge of the additional 20,000 hajj quota granted by the Saudi Arabian government to Indonesia in 2022. Dito was known to be one of the officials who travelled to Saudi Arabia when the quota increase was agreed upon. “We see that Mr Dito can explain what the investigators need, because Mr Dito at that time travelled to Saudi Arabia with the Indonesian Government delegation,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK’s Merah Putih building in South Jakarta on Friday (23/1). Dito briefly answered questions about whether he had started exercising regularly, resulting in his slimmer appearance. “Yes, while I’m not busy,” Dito said at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6/2026). Dito also admitted to recently participating in a Hyrox competition, a fitness race combining running and functional strength training. He claimed to have finished the race in under two hours. “Yes (I joined Hyrox). Finished under 2 hours,” Dito said. Dito completed his witness examination in the afternoon. He was questioned about two new suspects from the private sector in this case. “This examination was for the new investigation warrant. Previously, my first visit here was for the warrant with the first suspects, Gus Yaqut and Gus Alex. This second one involves private parties. I provided additional information,” Dito said at the KPK’s Merah Putih building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6/2026). Dito left the examination room at around 2:08 PM Western Indonesian Time. He had arrived at the KPK and began being questioned by investigators at 10:00 AM. Dito stated that the material of today’s examination was not much different from the previous one on 23 January. He was still questioned about the process of granting the additional hajj quota from the Saudi Arabian government to Indonesia. “It was more because at that time I was in Saudi Arabia during the meeting with MBS. Coincidentally, my father-in-law was also related to the association. So the questioning dug more into that,” Dito said. Dito Ariotedjo appeared slimmer when he fulfilled the KPK summons today. He said he had lost 40 kg since no longer serving as Menpora. “I returned to the disciplined pattern of my younger days. I limit my food intake to a maximum of 800-1,000 calories per day,” Dito said at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Tuesday (30/6/2026). Dito said he has been consistently dieting since leaving his ministerial post in September 2025. According to Dito, his weight has dropped by 40 kg. “I exercise every day. Snacks are very minimal. The key is nutritional intake and enduring hunger. I gained almost 50 kilograms between 2020 and 2023. Gained 50 kilos, lost 40 kilos. There are still 10 kilos to go,” Dito said.
