JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A former employee of Marwah Wedding Organizer (WO) Catering Service, Iman, claims he was not paid for nearly eight months while working at the wedding event company.

Iman stated he worked as a decorator and waitstaff but never received payment despite handling dozens of events.

“Almost 7-8 months. Not paid; many others haven’t been paid either,” he said in East Jakarta, according to a report by KompasTV journalist Ardi Praseno, cited by Kompas.com on Monday (25 May 2026).

“The decoration fee and monthly salary are different,” he added.

In addition to event-based pay, there was a monthly salary scheme of Rp3.5 million.

However, no payments were received since the start of employment.

The number of employees at the WO, which was initially around 70, has now dwindled to just three.

Previously, Marwah WO was reported to the police over allegations of fraud by a couple from Bekasi, Aldi (32) and Feny (32), for wedding services.

East Jakarta Metropolitan Police’s Reskrim Chief AKBP Bayu Kurniawan said officers would inspect the WO’s office.

Bayu stated the victims had tried on wedding attire at the WO’s office.

“The victims tried on dresses at their office in JGC. We need to check first if the office is even there,” he said.

Bayu explained that police have so far requested clarifications from three individuals regarding the alleged fraud at Cakung’s WO.
