Former Chairman of Banteng Muda Indonesia (BMI) Buleleng, Ketut Putra Sedana, is likely to join the Indonesian Gerakan Party (Gerindra). As is known, BMI is the youth wing of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP).

The Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Gerindra Party, Bali, Gede Muliawan Arya, also known as De Gadjah, has opened the door for Putra Sedana to join his party. This was conveyed by De Gadjah after attending a public lecture by the Chairman of the MPR, Ahmad Muzani, at the Mpu Kuturan Institute, Friday (15/5/2026). Putra Sedana was also present at the event.

De Gadjah admitted to having a close personal relationship with Putra Sedana. He affirmed that the Gerindra Party would welcome him with open arms if the former PDIP cadre decided to join. “We are like brothers. If he is willing to join Gerindra, we will gladly accept him,” said De Gadjah.

According to De Gadjah, Putra Sedana is a figure with great potential in Balinese politics. He considers Putra Sedana to be one of the figures who should be taken into account in the future. “He has extraordinary potential,” he said.

For information, Putra Sedana was once a PDIP cadre. However, he resigned from the party with the white-nosed bull logo on August 16, 2024. Since then, he has no longer been registered as a member of any political party.

Meanwhile, Putra Sedana has not given a definite answer regarding the possibility of joining the Gerindra Party. He prefers to leave all possibilities to the ongoing political process. “In politics, issues like this are inevitable. Stay calm. The important thing is to maintain unity,” said Putra Sedana.

However, Putra Sedana did not rule out the possibility of joining the Gerindra Party. According to him, as long as the political move leads to the interests of the community, the opportunity is always open. “If it is for the benefit of the community, why not? My efforts have always been for the community. If there are those who see this and provide a comfortable space, then why not. But, all of this is a process, let time answer it,” said Putra Sedana.

Putra Sedana also admitted that his relationship with De Gadjah is close. Communication with De Gadjah, he said, is like that of siblings, so the meetings that often occur do not need to be interpreted excessively. “We are like siblings. He is my younger brother, and I am considered his older brother. So, the meeting is normal,” said Putra Sedana.

Putra Sedana believes that all political parties basically have the same goal, namely to improve the welfare of the community. According to him, the difference lies in the figures who lead and drive the party. “There are no bad parties. They all have a vision for the welfare of the community. It just depends on who is at the helm and who is in it, that is the key,” said Putra Sedana.
