Former member of the Kupang City DPRD, Yuven Tukung, has officially left the NasDem Party. He has chosen to join the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). “I submitted my resignation letter through the leadership of the NasDem Party’s Kupang City Regional Executive Board (DPD) on 11 June 2026,” said Yuven Tukung on Friday evening (12/6/2026). Yuven asserted that as of today, he is no longer part of the party led by Surya Paloh. Yuven’s reason for joining PSI is its genuine commitment to young cadres. “I see that PSI has values and is consistent in its commitment to projecting young cadres, and that is concrete,” said Yuven. “This is proven by the four regional heads in NTT, all of whom are young people. Their background as young people is what I consider an advantage and excellence, given that I am still young,” he added. Meanwhile, the Chairman of PSI’s NTT Regional Executive Board (DPW), Christian Widodo, said that PSI is open to anyone who wishes to join. He claimed that many are interested in joining the party with the elephant logo. “PSI is a super open party. Anyone can join as long as their DNA is the same. We both admire the figure of Mr Jokowi,” said Christian. “So today, around five people joined. But that’s not all; in previous days, many have also expressed their intention to join us at PSI,” concluded the Mayor of Kupang.
