Former KPK Investigator Yudi Purnomo Urges AGO to Detain Febrie, Here's Why
Former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Yudi Purnomo has urged the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung) to detain former Jampidsus Febrie Ardiansyah as a suspect, arguing that the evidence held is already strong.
According to Yudi, detention is important for legal certainty and to ensure the investigation proceeds smoothly.
“Moreover, the Attorney General’s Office already has a new Jampidsus, Kuntadi, so there is no psychological reason to delay the detention,” Yudi said in a written statement on Friday, 24 July 2026.
For Yudi, who handled major corruption cases during his time at the KPK, detention is crucial to demonstrate that there is no intervention in the handling of the case.
“Moreover, the corruption cases allegedly involving Febrie number three, namely the coal supply to coal-fired power plants (PLTU), Asabri, and Krakatau Steel, which technically require Febrie’s testimony as a suspect at any time,” he said.
Yudi said that with Febrie detained, the examination process would certainly run smoothly as Febrie would be under the direct supervision of Team 9.
Previously, former Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah finally appeared at the Attorney General’s Office building in Jakarta on Friday, 24 July 2026.
His arrival was to answer investigators’ summons after previously failing to attend an examination scheduled several days earlier.
Febrie was questioned as a witness in an investigation into alleged money laundering (TPPU) currently being developed by Attorney General’s Office investigators.
Febrie’s attendance was confirmed by the Head of the Legal Information Centre (Kapuspenkum) at the Attorney General’s Office, Anang Supriatna. He confirmed that the former Jampidsus had undergone questioning.
“He has attended the questioning,” Anang said when contacted on Friday, 24 July 2026.
Anang said the examination took place at the Attorney General’s Office building and began at around 13.00 WIB.
“At Kejagung. From around 1pm,” he said.
