Former Islamic Boarding School Administrator Named Suspect in Rape of Alumna
Police have officially named a former administrator of the Ash-Sholihah Islamic boarding school (Ponpes) in Jonggrangan, Mlati, Sleman, DI Yogyakarta, identified by the initials NH or GN, as a suspect in an alleged sexual violence case. NH/GN was previously reported for the alleged rape of a former student, identified as FN, which resulted in pregnancy.
The Head of Criminal Investigation at Sleman Police, AKP Mateus Wiwit Kustiyadi, stated that NH/GN was designated as a suspect on 13 September 2026, following a series of case reviews. “The suspect is currently being pursued by our team. We hope to apprehend him soon as he is no longer at his residence,” Wiwit said when met at the DIY Regional Police Headquarters on Monday (1s4/9).
Wiwit added that the suspect has been missing from his home since the police report was filed by FN’s party at the Sleman Police Station on 7 September 2026. “We are continuing the pursuit. We have not yet issued a wanted list (DPO) status; we are still in the process of tracking his whereabouts,” Wiwit noted.
The suspect faces charges under Article 6, letter c of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Sexual Violence Crimes, which carries a potential sentence of 12 years in prison and/or a category 7 fine.
Previously, it was reported that a former student of an Islamic boarding school in the Sleman Regency was allegedly raped and became pregnant. The alleged perpetrator is NH/GN, a former staff member at the school where the victim currently serves. The incidents reportedly occurred between December 2025 and January 2026 within the boarding school premises.
Ahmad Khoirul Anwar, the son of the caretaker of Ponpes Ash-Sholihah, confirmed that the criminal allegations reported to the Sleman Police were committed by NH/GN, who is a son-in-law to the boarding school family. The school administration has positioned FN as a third party, claiming that the perpetrator’s wife is actually the victim of the affair.
“The perpetrator, NH, is not the head of the boarding school; he was one of the teaching staff,” Ahmad stated during a press conference at the school on Friday (11/9).
In July 2026, Ahmad reported that FN admitted to having an illicit relationship with GN. Following an internal investigation, GN was dismissed from his position as an administrator. The school subsequently conducted a mediation process, claiming the matter had been resolved through a family-based settlement. The school facilitated a ‘nikah siri’ (unregistered marriage) between GN and FN, an event attended by FN’s parents and GN’s uncle.
Ahmad further noted that the case has resurfaced because, despite the initial family agreement, FN has now reported the matter to the police accompanied by legal counsel. “In this matter, the wife of the perpetrator, NH (GN), is the victim of his actions with the third party, FN, as their family harmony has been destroyed by the involvement of a third party,” Ahmad asserted.
