Former Inspector: No Findings of Motocross Budget Flowing to MXGP
Mataram (ANTARA) - Former West Nusa Tenggara Inspector Ibnu Salim stated that there were no findings in the investigative audit indicating that the budget for the 2023 Lombok-Sumbawa Motocross Competition (LSMC) flowed to the 2023 MXGP event.
Ibnu made the statement after being examined as a witness in the investigation into alleged corruption of the LSMC budget at the West Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor’s Office in Mataram on Wednesday.
“There were no findings from the inspectorate; what was found were losses and tax shortfalls from the Lombok-Sumbawa Motocross Competition, not the MXGP,” he said.
According to Ibnu, the statement aligns with the NTB Inspectorate’s Audit Report, which recorded findings related to the accountability of the 2023 LSMC budget.
He stressed that LSMC and MXGP were two different activities, differing in terms of timing, budget, and activity proposals.
Ibnu explained that the NTB Provincial Government initially proposed government assistance to the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for a sport tourism event in the form of MXGP.
However, to comply with the 2023 Revised State Budget mechanism, the proposal was subsequently adjusted to the holding of the LSMC in October–November 2023.
He also admitted he was unaware of information regarding the alleged flow of residual findings amounting to around Rp800 million to certain regional officials, as he was no longer serving as NTB Inspector at that time.
During the examination, Ibnu said investigators questioned him regarding the implementation of supervision and the investigative audit ordered in March 2024 as a follow-up to a request from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.
