The Corruption Court panel of judges has sentenced the Director of PT Forest Exploitation and Industry (Inhutani) V for the period 2021–2025, Dicky Yuana Rady, to four years in prison after he was proven to have accepted bribes in the corruption case involving the forest management partnership.

“The defendant is legally and proven guilty of committing the criminal act of corruption by accepting bribes,” stated Chief Judge Teddy Windiartono during the verdict reading session at the Corruption Court in the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus) on Thursday.

The judges determined that Dicky was proven to have received bribes amounting to S$199,000 from two private entrepreneurs, Djunaidi Nur and Aditya Simaputra.

In addition to the prison sentence, Dicky was ordered to pay a fine of Rp200 million, with the provision that if not paid, it would be substituted (subsider) with imprisonment for 90 days.

Furthermore, the Panel of Judges imposed an additional penalty on Dicky in the form of repayment of substitute money amounting to S$10,000, subsider one year in prison.

The Chief Judge explained that the substitute money imposed was equivalent to the S$10,000 that had been used by Dicky, while the S$189,000 bribe money had not been used and had been returned to the state.

The money was received so that Dicky could condition or arrange for PT PML to continue cooperating with PT Inhutani V in utilising the forest areas in registers 42, 44, and 46 in Lampung Province.

In addition, the Panel of Judges decided that the Jeep Rubicon vehicle related to the case should be confiscated for the state as it formed the basis for the provision of the S$189,000 bribe.

Before delivering the verdict, the Chief Judge stated that several mitigating and aggravating factors had been considered.

The institution in question should have the responsibility to manage forest natural resources for the benefit of the state.

“The mitigating circumstances: the defendant has never been convicted before and has been polite and cooperative during the trial,” stated the Chief Judge.

The verdict handed down by the Panel of Judges against Dicky in the alleged bribery case in the forest management partnership within Inhutani V for 2024–2025 is slightly lighter than the prosecutors’ demand.

Previously, Dicky was demanded a prison sentence of 4 years and 10 months, a fine of Rp200 million subsider 90 days, and an additional penalty of repayment of substitute money amounting to S$10,000 subsider imprisonment for one year.
