Former Indonesian Migrant Worker Achieves Success with Mini ATM Business, Creates Job Opportunities in Lampung
Palembang, VIVA – Eko Cahyono, a former Indonesian migrant worker who worked in South Korea, now manages eight mini ATM outlets and recruits local residents at each branch he opens. While many regions still face employment challenges, Eko is creating new job opportunities from his hometown in Mesuji Regency, Lampung.
His journey did not begin with large capital or an established business network. After returning from South Korea several years ago, Eko started his business from a simple building materials store. Over time, he expanded the business to selling household furniture before finally seeing another opportunity needed by the community around him: a financial transaction service that was closer and more easily accessible.
At that time, Eko started opening mini ATM services. The business was doing quite well, but according to him, it was still not producing maximum results. The turning point came in 2024 when he started using the BukuAgen service. Previously, Eko used services from another provider and often faced problems when the machines malfunctioned. The slow handling often hindered the daily operations of his business.
“If there is a problem, just WhatsApp the sales team and there is immediately a solution. The income is also much better,” said Eko, quoted from his statement, Thursday, June 4, 2026.
This change gradually drove the growth of his business. From four outlets when he first used BukuAgen, the number has now grown to eight outlets with a total of ten EDC machines, all of which use the BukuAgen service.
Eko believes that the use of BukuAgen has also contributed to increasing his business income. In addition to obtaining a better profit-sharing portion compared to the previous service provider, he also receives additional benefits from various incentive and cashback programs available. Throughout January 2025 to January 2026, the business network he built recorded 18,806 transactions and made him the Champion Agent with the highest number of transactions in the Lampung, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, and Jambi regions.
According to him, the greatest achievement is not the awards or the number of transactions achieved, but the opportunity to create job opportunities for the community around him. Every time he opens a new outlet, Eko recruits residents from the village where the outlet is located. In this way, the growth of his business directly creates new job opportunities in the surrounding community.
