Former Gowa Regent's Driver Reveals He Was Ordered to Spy on Men and Terrorised by Her Husband
The personal life of Gowa Regent Sitti Husniah Talenrang has come under intense public scrutiny following allegations of an extramarital affair. A series of witnesses have testified about the regent’s suspected relationship with a political consultant, Muhammad Basri alias Basri Kajang, commonly known as Ombas or BK. The allegations were initially brought to light by the regent’s husband, Khaerul Aco, during a hearing of the Gowa Regency Legislative Council’s Special Committee on Wednesday evening. Khaerul Aco stated he had long been aware of the alleged illicit relationship between his wife and the consultant. Among those providing testimony was Wahyu Akbar, the regent’s former driver. Wahyu revealed he was frequently ordered to monitor and track the whereabouts of Basri Kajang, almost on a daily basis, both during the day and at night. He also recounted an incident where he was terrorised by Basri Kajang’s wife, who was seen circling the regent’s official residence. Wahyu stated he was instructed to spy on Basri Kajang to ascertain his location, and on one occasion, the regent asked him to wait at Basri Kajang’s home so she could meet the consultant upon his return.
