Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto has appointed former Deputy Religious Minister (Wamenag) of Indonesia Zainut Tauhid Sa’adi as Deputy Chair of the National Zakat Board (Baznas) for the 2026–2031 term.
The appointment is formalised in a Presidential Decree on the Appointment of Leadership and Members of Baznas for the 2026–2031 Period. The decree was delivered by Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar to the Baznas leadership team during a ceremony held at the Religious Affairs Ministry office in Jakarta on Tuesday 10 March.
Dr Zainut Tauhid Sa’adi, born 20 July 1963, is recognised as a figure with extensive experience in politics, religious affairs, and Islamic civil society organisations.
Sa’adi previously served as Deputy Religious Minister of Indonesia in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, which was inaugurated on 25 October 2019. His organisational career began in his youth through the Nahdlatul Ulama Student Association (IPNU), and he was subsequently entrusted to serve as General Chair of the IPNU Central Board for two periods from 1988 to 1996.
Beyond his engagement in various religious organisations, Sa’adi also served as a member of Indonesia’s Film Censorship Board for 2009–2012.
