Former Deputy Manpower Minister Noel Ebenezer Faces Verdict in K3 Extortion Case Today

Jakarta, VIVA – Former Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer, or Noel Ebenezer, will undergo the verdict hearing for an alleged extortion case involving the processing of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) certifications today, Thursday, 4 June 2026.

“The hearing for the reading of the verdict will be reopened on Thursday, 4 June 2026,” stated the Presiding Judge, Nur Sari Baktiana, during a previous session. According to the Case Tracking Information System (SIPP) of the Central Jakarta District Court, the verdict hearing for Noel Ebenezer is scheduled to take place at 10:00 WIB.

It was previously reported that Noel faces a prison sentence of five years, a fine of Rp250 million (subsidiary to 90 days in prison), and restitution of Rp4.43 billion (subsidiary to 2 years in prison).

In the case involving alleged extortion in the management of K3 certificates within the Ministry of Manpower and related gratifications during the 2024–2025 period, he is accused of extorting K3 certification or licence applicants for a total of Rp6.52 billion and receiving gratifications.

The extortion was allegedly carried out by Noel alongside ten other defendants, namely Temurila, Miki Mahfud, Fahrurozi, Hery Sutanto, Subhan, Gerry Aditya Herwanto Putra, Irvian Bobby Mahendro Putro, Sekarsari Kartika Putri, Anitasari Kusumawati, and Supriadi.

Sentencing demands for the other defendants include: Temurila and Miki Mahfud each facing 3 years in prison; Fahrurozi facing 4 years and 6 months; Subhan, Gerry Aditya Herwanto Putra, Sekarsari Kartika Putri, Anitasari Kusumawati, and Supriadi each facing 5 years and 6 months; Irvian Bobby Mahendro Putro facing 6 years; and Hery Sutanto facing 7 years.

In addition to imprisonment, the ten defendants are also facing fines of Rp250 million, subsidiary to 90 days in prison. Furthermore, several defendants have been ordered to pay restitution for the corruption funds they received, including Hery (Rp4.73 billion), Subhan (Rp5.8 billion), Gerry (Rp13.26 billion), Bobby (Rp60.32 billion), Sekarsari (Rp42.67 billion), Anita (Rp14.49 billion), Supriadi (Rp19.81 billion), and Fahrurozi (Rp233.01 million), each with a subsidiary sentence of 2 years in prison.

The K3 certification applicants who were allegedly extorted by the defendants include Fanny Fania Octapiani, Fransisca Xaveriana, Grhadini Lukitasari Tasya, Intan Fitria Permatasari, Muhammad Deny, Nicken Ayu Wulandari, Nur Aisyah Astuti, Octavia Voni Andari, Shalsabila Salu, and Sri Enggarwati.
