JAKARTA — The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) has not yet received further information from the government regarding plans to deploy troops with the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) to Gaza, Palestine.

The TNI has also not received technical details concerning the provision of equipment to soldiers, such as blue helmets as a visual identifier for peacekeeping forces in war zones.

The Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad), Brigadier General Donny Pramono, stated that his unit authority is still awaiting technical details from the government regarding the use of blue helmets for troops to be deployed to Gaza.

“My apologies, but as of now there is no information regarding that matter (blue helmets),” Donny told Republika on Friday (27 February 2026).

Regarding the exact date of deployment, Donny also stated that nothing has been finalised.

The blue helmet issue has become a serious question to better ensure the safety of TNI troops to be deployed to Gaza.

To date, TNI troops have worn blue helmets as a symbol of peacekeeping forces in every third-party operation mission in war zone areas. Blue helmets are the standard attribute of the United Nations (UN) specifically for international peacekeeping forces.

According to former Deputy Foreign Minister (Wamenlu) Dino Patti Djalal, the wearing of blue helmets is a necessity that Indonesia must adopt in the upcoming ISF mission with other countries in Gaza.

Nevertheless, Donny previously explained that the TNI is simply awaiting orders from President Prabowo Subianto on when to deploy to Gaza. According to him, the TNI has already prepared the necessary troop capacity, including the deployment timeline.
