Former Deputy Defence Minister Donny Inaugurated as Rector of the University of the Republic of Indonesia

President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Air Marshal (Ret.) Donny Ermawan Taufanto as the Governor of the University of the Republic of Indonesia. Prabowo also inaugurated Professor Yos Sunitiyoso as the Deputy Governor of the University of the Republic of Indonesia. The legal basis for the inauguration was Presidential Decree Number 80P of 2026 concerning the Appointment of the Governor and Deputy Governor of the University of the Republic of Indonesia. The inauguration took place at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/7/2026). Donny previously served as Deputy Minister of Defence, while Professor Yos is a lecturer at the School of Business and Management at the Bandung Institute of Technology. On the same occasion, Prabowo also inaugurated Sudaryono as the head of the National Nutrition Agency. Sudaryono replaces Nanik Sudaryati Deyang, who resigned for health reasons.
