Former Deputy Attorney General Febrie Adriansyah Remains at Large, Not Yet Detained by Police
Although he has been named a suspect, the police have not yet detained Febrie Adriansyah, who resigned from his position as Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office. Febrie’s whereabouts also remain unknown.
Head of the Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipidkor), Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, stated that the police have only detained a suspect from the private sector with the initials DR since Friday, 10 July 2026. “We have detained suspect DR at the Polda Metro Jaya Detention Centre effective from 10 July 2026,” Totok said.
Totok further explained that the corruption case, which now names Febrie and DR as suspects, has been transferred to the Jampidsus. “We have agreed with the Acting Jampidsus at the Attorney General’s Office that the handling of this investigation by the National Police has been transferred to the Attorney General’s Office,” he stated.
According to Totok, the transfer is a form of synergy and cooperation in handling cases between law enforcement institutions, namely the National Police and the Attorney General’s Office. “In the current case handling process, the National Police have examined 15 witnesses and two experts, and have also conducted several searches,” he added.
Regarding Febrie, Acting Jampidsus Rudi Margono explained that no detention has been carried out to date, and Febrie’s whereabouts are still unknown. “The information is that he has been named a suspect by the National Police’s Kortas. But no detention has been carried out yet,” Rudi said.
He stated that they are still awaiting the continuation of the investigation process by the National Police until the case is officially transferred to the Jampidsus Round Building at the Attorney General’s Office. “We are waiting for the development of the investigation and the transfer,” he said.
Rudi also added that although Febrie has declared his resignation as Jampidsus and the Attorney General has appointed him as Acting Jampidsus, President Prabowo Subianto has not yet issued a Presidential Decree (Keppres) dismissing Febrie from the Jampidsus position. “Formally, we are still waiting for the Keppres on the official resignation from the President. An appointment requires a Keppres, and so does a resignation,” Rudi explained.
He noted that President Prabowo will ultimately decide whether Febrie’s resignation is accepted or not. “Whether the resignation is approved by the President or not, we are waiting. If it is approved, then there will be a Keppres for the dismissal,” Rudi concluded.
