Putri Candrawathi has come back into the public spotlight following a series of posts about her personal life before she was dragged into the premeditated murder case of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat, also known as Brigadier J. Behind her status as the wife of former head of the National Police’s Professional and Security Affairs Division (Kadiv Propam) Ferdy Sambo, few people know that Putri has an impressive educational background.
Before serving her prison sentence, Putri Candrawathi was known to have worked as a dentist. This information has again become a topic of public discussion after Ferdy Sambo’s official Instagram account, managed by an administrator, uploaded a series of posts about his wife’s life journey.
So what was Putri Candrawathi’s life like before she was ultimately sent to prison? Here are the facts.
- Working as a dentist
Before becoming known as a Bhayangkari and the wife of a high-ranking National Police officer, Putri Candrawathi had a career in healthcare.
According to information shared through Ferdy Sambo’s official Instagram account, Putri is a graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) at Trisakti University. Not only that, she is also said to have continued her education at the University of Pittsburgh in the United States.
This educational history shows that Putri had an academic background in dentistry before she chose to focus on supporting her husband’s career.
- Choosing to devote herself as a Bhayangkari
After marrying Ferdy Sambo, Putri no longer continued her profession as a dentist or journalist. She chose to accompany her husband, who at the time served as a National Police officer.
The post explained: “After marrying Mr Ferdy Sambo, Mrs Putri did not continue her profession as a dentist or as a journalist. She chose to focus on being a Bhayangkari and following her husband wherever he was posted,” as quoted on Thursday, 16 July 2026.
That decision made Putri active in various Bhayangkari organisational activities in a number of regions where Ferdy Sambo was posted.

Putri’s activities as a Bhayangkari are also said to have extended beyond organisational matters.
In the same post, it was explained that when Ferdy Sambo served as Brebes Police Chief, Putri expressed a desire to help educate children in remote areas.
