Former Customs Intelligence Head Budiman Bayu Prasojo Charged with Accepting IDR 7.6 Billion in Gratuities

Former Head of Customs Intelligence at the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation, Budiman Bayu Prasojo, has been charged with accepting gratuities totalling IDR 7.69 billion. The charges were read by Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutor M. Takdir Suhan at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Monday, 28 July 2026.

The indictment states that Budiman received gratuities amounting to IDR 525 million, SGD 5.28 million, USD 10,000, SGD 119,755, HKD 4,700, and MYR 8,100. “The defendant has committed and participated in several criminal acts which must be viewed as independent criminal acts, receiving gratuities related to his position and contrary to his obligations or duties,” the prosecutor said.

The gratuities allegedly originated from import and customs service company Blueray Cargo Group and other parties with business activities related to the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise. Budiman is accused of receiving the money together with former Director of Enforcement and Investigation Rizal and former Sub-Directorate Head of Intelligence Sisprian Subiaksono, who are also defendants in the same case.

The indictment details that in July 2025, Blueray Cargo owner John Field met with several officials from the Directorate of Enforcement and Investigation to discuss his business activities, which were drawing attention from various parties. Budiman was present at this meeting. Following the discussions, Rizal requested that assistance be provided to Blueray Cargo. Between July 2025 and January 2026, Budiman allegedly received money on seven occasions from John Field, Operational Manager of Customs Clearance at Blueray Cargo Dedy Kurniawan Sukolo, and Head of Import Documents Andri. Each payment was valued at IDR 75 million in Singapore dollars.
