KOMPAS.com - The court case between billionaire Elon Musk and ChatGPT creator, OpenAI, has intensified and become increasingly personal.

In the California court, the leadership of OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman, was heavily criticised by his former confidante, Mira Murati.

The former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of OpenAI clearly stated that Altman is an unreliable leader.

Murati added that Altman often causes chaos within the company.

This troublesome and two-faced behaviour was revealed in a shocking testimony by Murati through a video played before the jury, during the third week of the historic trial.

In her statement, Murati accused her former boss of having manipulative communication skills and a tendency to “create confusion”.

“He (Altman) has a tendency to make one statement to one person, while on the other hand he provides conflicting information,” said Murati in court, as reported by KompasTekno from The Guardian.

The legal team for Elon Musk presented evidence in the form of text conversations between Altman and Murati when the crisis reached its peak.

In a very tense atmosphere, Altman, who was in a difficult position, asked Murati, “Can you give me some indication? Will everything be alright or not?” Without hesitation, Murati immediately replied to his message firmly, “The direction taken is completely wrong.”

Murati’s statement about Altman’s bad character turned out to be more than just talk. Similar testimony was also given by several other former high-ranking OpenAI officials, including Ilya Sutskever.

The co-founder and former Chief Scientist at OpenAI was called to testify by Musk’s legal team to confirm Altman’s past behaviour.

Elon Musk’s lawyer, Steven Molo, asked Sutskever about his comments to the board of directors before Altman’s dismissal.

Molo asked if Sutskever had ever said that Altman “has a pattern of constant lying, belittling his executives, and inciting disputes among them.”
