Former chief's son faces questioning

BOGOR: The National Police are to question 15-year-old Tri Riyanto Andika Putra alias Rian, the son of former Bogor police chief Sr. Comr. Bambang Wasgito, over an alleged attack on the North Bogor Police security head Adj. First. Insp. Wawan Setiawan.

Bambang and his driver, Second Brig. Darmawan Damanik, were previously named suspects in the incident.

A police officer, who was speaking on condition of anonymity, said Rian would be questioned because the alleged assault on Wawan was reportedly sparked by Rian's report to his father that he was attacked by unidentified persons.

Bambang has been removed from his position in Bogor and given a job in the National Police Headquarters.

The officer, said Rian was also accused of violating traffic regulations for driving a car although he was under 17. --KCM
