Former BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Director Edwin Ridwan Ready to Lead BEI, Here is His Team Lineup

Jakarta. Former Director of Investments at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Edwin Ridwan, has expressed his readiness to run as a candidate for Director of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) for the 2026–2030 term. The man, who currently serves as President of CFA Society Indonesia, revealed that his decision to run is driven by his desire to make a greater contribution to improving Indonesia’s capital market. “Yes, that’s correct (running). As someone who has been involved and grown with the capital market for more than the last 30 years, I feel called to improve the integrity and quality of Indonesia’s capital market,” Edwin told Kontan on Tuesday (31/3/2026). In previous Kontan records, there are at least three other candidate director packages, each led by Laksono Widodo (former Director of PT BRI Danareksa Sekuritas), Jeffrey Hendrik (Acting Director of Bursa Efek Indonesia), and Iding Pardi (Director of PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia). According to the rules set out in Article 8 Paragraph 1 of Financial Services Authority Regulation No. 58/POJK 04/2026 on the Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners of Stock Exchanges, each package must be supported by at least 10 Exchange Members who have a cumulative total transaction of at least 10% of the total frequency and securities trading over the last 12 months. The name of the selected candidate director package will then be submitted to the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The Ability and Propriety Assessment Committee formed by the OJK Capital Market Supervisory Executive Head will conduct a fitness and propriety test for the candidate directors. This committee will consist of five members, namely the Deputy Commissioner as chair cum member, and four officials at least at the director level as members. It should be noted that Article 10 Paragraph 5 of POJK 58/2016 states that the Ability and Propriety Assessment Committee conducts assessments of the ability and propriety of each candidate for the Board of Directors of the Stock Exchange individually according to the proposed position. This means that when the leader of the selected package becomes the Director, it does not automatically mean that the other six members in the same package will all be selected as exchange directors.
