Former Bima City Police Chief AKBP Didik Tests Positive for Drugs
Jakarta, CNN Indonesia – Former Bima City Police Chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro has been confirmed positive for narcotics based on the results of a hair sample test conducted in a laboratory, known as the Hair Follicle Drug Test. “When we tested him, he was negative. He and his wife, along with the policewoman, were negative. However, the Propam unit has conducted a hair test, and it came back positive,” stated Kombes Pol Zulkarnain Harahap, Head of Subdit 3 at the Directorate of Narcotics Crime at the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency, during a press conference at his office in Jakarta on Sunday evening (15 February).
Hair sample testing is considered the most effective method compared to other narcotics tests, as it can detect substances or types of narcotics consumed for up to 90 days in the hair follicles.
Didik has already been named a suspect in the alleged narcotics abuse case, though he has not yet been detained. He is currently placed in special assignment (Patsus) and is scheduled to face an ethics trial on Thursday, 19 February 2026.
“For AKBP DPK, he will now undergo the code of ethics process, scheduled for Thursday (19 February) to hold the ethics trial,” said Irjen Pol Johnny Eddison Isir, Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police.
Didik is accused of violating Article 609 paragraph 2 letter a of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP), in conjunction with Law Number 1 of 2026 on Criminal Adjustments, and Article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 on Psychotropics. He faces a potential prison sentence of up to life imprisonment.
The National Police has assured that it will not grant any special treatment to its members involved in criminal acts, particularly narcotics, which is considered an extraordinary crime. “In fact, we are applying stricter examination standards to uphold the institution’s dignity. This aligns with the instructions from the National Police leadership to conduct consistent and ongoing internal clean-ups,” Isir stated.
Didik’s involvement in the alleged narcotics abuse case was revealed through the testimony of AKP Malaungi, Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit at Bima City Police, who has also been named a suspect.
On Wednesday, 11 February 2026, the Internal Affairs Bureau of the National Police’s Professional and Security Division, together with the Directorate of Narcotics Crime at the Criminal Investigation Agency, conducted a search at Didik’s private residence in Tangerang. From this forced entry, evidence was seized, including 7 clip packets of methamphetamine weighing a total of 16.3 grams, 50 ecstasy pills, 19 Alprazolam pills, and 2 Happy Five pills.
