Former Bima City police chief AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro hung his head as he was about to undergo an ethics violation hearing in connection with a narcotics abuse case.

Observations at the TNCC Building at National Police Headquarters showed that a number of Provost officers from the Professional and Security Division (Propam) were already standing guard around the hearing room.

AKBP Didik was escorted by Provost officers to the hearing room at approximately 09:45 Western Indonesian Time. He was seen looking downward as he entered the room that would determine his fate following his entanglement in a drug case.

Previously, the former Bima City police chief had been named a suspect in a narcotics distribution case. Didik was designated as a suspect based on a case review held on Friday (13 February) afternoon.

“The result of the case review is to proceed with the investigation of AKBP Didik Putra Kuncoro,” said the Director of Narcotics Crime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim), Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, in a written statement on Friday.

Eko Hadi stated that during the case review, Didik was found to be culpable for the possession of a white suitcase containing narcotics at the residence of Aipda Dianita in Tangerang, Banten.

The drug evidence recovered comprised 16.3 grammes of methamphetamine, 49 ecstasy tablets and 2 partially consumed tablets (23.5 grammes), 19 Alprazolam tablets, 2 Happy Five tablets, and 5 grammes of ketamine.

In this case, Didik has been charged under Article 609 paragraph (2) letter (a) of Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code in conjunction with Law No. 1 of 2026 on criminal adjustments, and Article 62 of Law No. 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropic Substances in conjunction with Appendix 1 serial number 9 of Law No. 1 of 2026.

Meanwhile, Head of Sub-Directorate 3 of the Narcotics Crime Directorate at Bareskrim, Commissioner Zulkarnain Harahap, said that Didik also tested positive for narcotics based on a hair follicle drug test conducted in a laboratory.

“When we examined him, he tested negative. He and his wife, the policewoman, were negative. However, Propam had already conducted a hair test, and it came back positive,” he said.
