Former Berkarya Party Cadre Appointed Head of PKB Kupang City

The Kupang City branch of the National Awakening Party (PKB) is now chaired by Satario Pandie. Satario is a former cadre of the Berkarya Party. The man familiarly known as Rio was appointed as the Chairman of the PKB Kupang City Branch for the 2026-2031 period, replacing the previous head, Theodora Ewalde Taek. Rio was confirmed as the Chairman of the PKB Kupang City Branch in a virtual ceremony on Thursday. The appointment was led by the Head of the Central Board for Legislative and Executive Affairs, Abdul Halim Iskandar. Rio confirmed his designation as the definitive candidate for Chairman of the Tanfidz Council of the PKB Kupang City Branch. “Essentially, according to the results of the Zoom meeting with the central board, the name of the definitive chairman candidate was read out for 22 regencies and cities in East Nusa Tenggara. For Kupang City, only one name was read out, which was my own,” Rio stated via a WhatsApp message. Following his confirmation as the definitive candidate for Chairman, Rio received a mandate from the PKB Central Board to form the management structure of the Kupang City PKB Branch for the 2026-2031 period. “The structured management board will subsequently be submitted to the PKB Central Board for ratification,” explained the member of the Kupang City Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD). The official inauguration of the definitive board is scheduled to be conducted by the PKB Central Board to coincide with the PKB anniversary celebrations in Jakarta. For context, Satario Pandie was a member of the Kupang City DPRD from the Berkarya Party for the 2019-2024 period. Subsequently, for the 2024-2029 period, he stood again, this time from the PKB. Upon joining PKB, he also ran as one of three candidates for the PKB chairmanship. The other two candidates were Theodora Ewalde Taek and PKB Kupang City Secretary Roy Riwu Kaho.
