Former Bank NTB Syariah CEO Re-examined over Rp 11 Billion Loan
The West Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati NTB) has again examined former Bank NTB Syariah president director Kukuh Rahardjo. The examination relates to alleged corruption in the provision of an Rp 11 billion loan to PT Carsten Group Indonesia (CGI).
Kejati NTB spokesperson Muhammad Harun Al Rasyid confirmed the examination of Kukuh. Kukuh was questioned regarding his authority in approving the financing to PT CGI in 2023.
“Today Kukuh Rahardjo, former president director of Bank NTB Syariah, complied with investigators’ summons regarding the alleged criminal act of corruption in providing financing to PT CGI in 2023,” Harun said on Wednesday (19/8/2026).
Kukuh arrived at Kejati NTB accompanied by his legal counsel at around 10.00 WITA. He was examined regarding the provision of an Rp 11 billion loan to PT CGI.
“He provided information relating to the execution of his duties and authority, both as president director and as a member of the board-level financing decision committee, which led to the approval of financing to PT Carsten Group Indonesia in 2023,” Harun said.
The examination of Kukuh forms part of the investigation into the alleged corruption case involving Bank NTB Syariah’s working capital loan to PT CGI. Previously, special crimes investigators from Kejati NTB examined former Bank NTB Syariah financing director Muhamad Usman.
Investigators have also examined a number of other witnesses. On Friday (14/8/2026), investigators examined former director of PT Samota Enduro Gemilang (SEG), Taufan Rahmadi.
Examinations in the case are continuing intensively. “Everyone involved in or connected with the provision of working capital credit from Bank NTB Syariah to PT Carsten amounting to Rp 11 billion will be examined,” he said.
PT CGI obtained the Rp 11 billion loan, which was used to organise the 2023 Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP). PT SEG acted as the promoter for the event.
During the investigation process, Kejati NTB also searched the Bank NTB Syariah office on Jalan Langko, Mataram City, on Thursday (23/7/2026). At least 100 documents were seized as evidence during the search.
“Following the search, several documents were seized; approximately more than 100 documents have been confiscated,” Harun stated.
Since the search, investigators have been conducting examinations intensively. Among those examined were former Bank NTB Syariah general affairs director Kukuh Rahardjo and PT Carsten Group Indonesia director Abdul Ghany Kusumah.
The provision of Rp 11 billion in capital to PT CGI is suspected of not complying with proper mechanisms. Investigators found unlawful acts that could potentially cause state losses, leading to the case being elevated from inquiry to investigation.
“Yes, clearly, if it has been elevated to investigation, there is potential for state losses,” said Kejati NTB assistant for special crimes Muh Zulkifli Said.
Zulkifli declined to disclose the potential state losses identified. In calculating state losses, Kejati NTB is working with the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK).
“We are still conducting further examination,” he said.
The corruption case involving PT CGI’s working capital loan is separate from the corruption case concerning the organisation of the 2024 Motocross Grand Prix, which was also financed by Bank NTB Syariah. That case remains at the inquiry stage.
The MXGP case is also distinct from the corruption case involving the organisation of the 2023 Lombok Sumbawa Motocross Competition (LSMC) worth Rp 24 billion. The handling of that case, whose funds originated from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, has already reached the investigation stage.
