Former Acting Dirjen of Kemnaker Claims Ignorance of K3 Extortion, Judge: Up to You, Sir
The trial took place at the Jakarta Corruption Court on Thursday (7/5/2026). Initially, Fahrurozi admitted regretting receiving Rp 100 million from Hery Sutanto, who served as Director of Institutional Development from 2021 to February 2025.
Fahrurozi said he asked Hery about the reason for the payment in October 2024. He stated that Hery explained the money was a token of thanks from the Occupational Safety and Health Services Company (PJK3).
Fahrurozi admitted regretting accepting the money. He received it after being appointed as Acting Dirjen at Kemnaker.
“This means I regret it in relation to accepting that, after I clarified, it turned out to be true,” said Fahrurozi.
The judge was puzzled because Fahrurozi repeatedly claimed ignorance when questioned about the extortion practices in processing K3 certificates. Fahrurozi said he had not heard any information about such practices at the time.
“Sir, you were there. This happened over years, how could you not hear about it from people around,” said the judge.
“That’s right, I really didn’t hear,” replied Fahrurozi.
“All the witnesses yesterday were from Kemnaker, Sir; they knew everything. So you’re the only one who didn’t know,” the judge said in astonishment.
“That’s correct, Your Honour, because they were all insiders there, Your Honour,” replied Fahrurozi.
Fahrurozi continued to claim ignorance regarding the extortion practices in processing K3 certificates. The judge noted that Fahrurozi was in the Kemnaker environment in the position of Acting Dirjen until his definitive appointment.
“So you’re an outsider, Sir?” asked the judge.
“I’m an outsider,” replied Fahrurozi.
“At least you were involved there,” added the judge.
“No, Your Honour, never,” replied Fahrurozi.
“Up to you, Sir,” retorted the judge.
The judge then probed Fahrurozi’s knowledge about blanks for issuing K3 certificates. Fahrurozi again claimed he did not understand the matter.
“So at that time, was there any information about a shortage of blanks?” asked the judge.
“No,” replied Fahrurozi.
“So the funds for the blanks should have been available?” asked the judge.
“I also don’t fully understand that time,” replied Fahrurozi.
“What do you understand, Sir? I’m confused; you’ve said you don’t understand everything from the start,” said the judge.
“That’s true, Your Honour; I was completely new there, and throughout my career, I had never been in that area, and I didn’t know many of the people there either,” replied Fahrurozi.
There are a total of 11 defendants in this case. Their identities are as follows:
