Forgot to give? Rumah Yatim app offers digital alms solution
The National Amil Zakat Institution (Laznas) Rumah Yatim has introduced a digital alms service through the Rumah Yatim application, now available on the Play Store and App Store. Through the application, the public can access various charitable programmes whilst utilising the convenience of automatic almsgiving to help build a routine habit of sharing. Director of Marketing and Communication at Rumah Yatim, Sani Ramdani, stated in Jakarta on Thursday that digitalisation of services is part of the institution’s effort to provide ease and enhance the public’s experience in giving. “The spirit of giving among Indonesians is immense. The challenge sometimes lies not in the intention, but in busyness that causes almsgiving to be overlooked. Therefore, we present an application that helps people to do good more easily and consistently,” Sani said. This feature serves as a solution for individuals who wish to be consistent in giving but often miss the opportunity due to daily routines. With a more practical system, users can set their almsgiving habits through the application without needing to repeat the donation process manually. According to him, the presence of the Rumah Yatim application is also a step for the institution to adapt to the changing behaviour of a society that is increasingly engaged with digital-based services. Beyond alms, users can access various options for zakat, infaq, waqf, orphan assistance, and other social and community empowerment programmes all within one application. “Technology should bring people closer to goodness. We want the Rumah Yatim application to not just be a donation platform, but to become part of the community’s daily sharing habits,” Sani remarked. Rumah Yatim continues to encourage the strengthening of digital services to deliver a donation process that is increasingly easy, secure, and transparent for donors. Through the application, the public can access zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf services digitally. The presence of this automatic alms service is expected to encourage more people to make giving not just a momentary activity, but a sustainable habit of kindness.
