Forestry Minister Requests "Zero Waste, Zero Accident" in National Parks in Line with President's Directives
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni held a coordination meeting with all national parks and nature tourism parks to ensure preparedness for the Eid al-Fitr holiday and to highlight President Prabowo Subianto’s directives regarding “zero waste and zero accident”.
According to a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday, Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni, in an online meeting with 57 National Parks (TN) and 145 Nature Tourism Parks (TWA), conveyed that President Prabowo Subianto has given special attention to the readiness of information and services in TN and TWA areas, considering the increased public interest in nature tourism during the holiday period.
“President Prabowo has given me directives regarding information from TN/TWA that is available during the holidays; there is a market from the public who want to visit TN-TWA during the Eid al-Fitr break,” said Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni.
“President Prabowo also requests that the management of TN-TWA pay attention to zero waste, have sufficient bins and personnel. Then prioritise zero accident, ensuring no casualties due to inadequate safety facilities; prepare medical teams, ambulances, or adequate health centres,” he added.
In addition, the principle of zero accident or no accidents is also a priority by ensuring the readiness of safety facilities, such as medical teams, ambulances, health centres, as well as clear signage at every tourist location.
He also reminded of the importance of controlling the number of visitors according to the carrying capacity and capacity of the area, to prevent excessive density that could potentially cause safety risks or environmental damage. TN and TWA are also asked to ensure that the quota system runs optimally so that the tourism experience remains safe and comfortable.
“Ensure that visitors to TN and TWA do not exceed the set quota, so as not to exceed the carrying capacity and capacity that causes overwhelming queues from tourists,” said Raja Juli Antoni.
