Forestry Minister Raja Antoni Pledges Full Support for KPK in Anti-Corruption Drive

Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni has affirmed his full commitment to supporting the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in eradicating corruption. The pledge relates to the ongoing development of a sting operation case against the Regent of Kuantan Singingi, Riau, which has been linked to issues surrounding forest area release. “We from the Ministry of Forestry, especially I as the forestry minister, fully support all efforts to eradicate corruption in this republic. So we will assist the KPK, as my goodwill to help the law enforcement process and corruption eradication,” Antoni stated at the Ministry of Forestry. Antoni said he has been mandated to create transparent and anti-bribery forest governance. He added that he would assist the KPK in combating corruption, particularly within the forestry sector. “I was mandated by the President to create ‘forest governance’ that is anti-corruption, anti-bribery, accountable, and transparent. Once again, I appreciate what the KPK is doing. We will help the KPK because this is part of the reform process within the Ministry of Forestry, if indeed there is a problem there,” he said. The Minister previously confirmed that the Ministry of Forestry is open to the entire investigation process conducted by the KPK. He stated his readiness to cooperate, whether regarding required documents or testimony. “Therefore, I appreciate it, and at the same time, we from the ministry, myself, and all staff will be cooperative. If documents are needed, if we need to be summoned, I will be summoned, God willing, we will fulfil it because, once again, this is in the context of eradicating corruption and improving our forestry sector,” he concluded.
