Forestry Minister (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni held an online coordination meeting with the managers of 57 National Parks (TN) and 145 Nature Reserves (TWA) to ensure preparedness for the Eid al-Fitr holiday. During the meeting, he emphasised President Prabowo Subianto’s directives regarding the implementation of zero waste and zero accident principles across all conservation areas.

“President Prabowo gave me instructions regarding information from TN-TWA that are available during the holiday, as there is demand from the public wanting to visit TN-TWA during the Eid al-Fitr break,” said Raja Juli while delivering his guidance via Zoom on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

In line with these directives, he stressed the importance of applying the zero waste principle through the provision of adequate waste bins and sufficient cleaning staff to maintain environmental preservation.

Additionally, the zero accident principle is a priority by ensuring the readiness of safety facilities, such as medical teams, ambulances, health centres, and clear signage at every tourist location.

“President Prabowo also requested that the management of TN-TWA pay attention to zero waste, having sufficient bins and personnel. Then, prioritise zero accident, ensuring no casualties due to inadequate safety facilities; prepare medical teams, ambulances, or adequate health centres,” said Raja Juli.

Raja Juli also reminded the importance of controlling the number of visitors in accordance with the carrying capacity and capacity of the areas to prevent excessive density that could pose safety risks or environmental damage. He asked managers to ensure that the quota system runs optimally so that the tourist experience remains safe and comfortable.

“Ensure that visitors to TN and TWA do not exceed the established quota, so as not to exceed the carrying capacity and capacity that causes overwhelming queues from tourists,” he stated.
