Forest Minister Conveys Prabowo's Greetings While Issuing Social Forestry Certificates in IKN
Indonesia’s Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni presented Certificates of Social Forestry (SK) to Forest Farmer Groups (KTH) covering a total area of 833 hectares benefiting 140 household heads.
The presentation of social forestry certificates took place in the Nusantara Capital Authority (IKN) in East Kalimantan on Saturday, 28 February. On this occasion, Raja Juli also conveyed greetings from President Prabowo Subianto to the forest farmer groups.
“Respectful greetings to the forest farmer groups from President Prabowo Subianto. I wish to emphasise once again that this is a flagship presidential programme, where forest as a natural resource is maximised for community welfare,” Raja Juli stated.
In total, four forest farmer groups received the certificates: KTH Meranti Bakungan Makmur, KTH Sentosa Rimba, KTH Quarry, and KTH Perjuangan Penjaga Hutan Teluk Pandan.
According to Raja Juli, Prabowo’s flagship programme provides legal certainty for communities to utilise forest areas productively and sustainably.
“The presentation of social forestry certificates to these four forest farmer groups is part of 8.3 million social forestry certificates that have been distributed to communities,” Raja Juli stated.
“Many matters still require resolution, including ensuring legal aspects for communities so they can maximise forest utilisation whilst improving welfare and protecting forest conservation,” he added.
Raja Juli, who previously served as Deputy Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), noted that this certificate presentation was special because it was held in IKN, which he described as a dream capital receiving strong direct support from Prabowo.
“The event is special because it is held in IKN, a location that truly represents the dream and aspiration of the Indonesian people to have a new capital, Nusantara. Alhamdulillah, we see very strong political support from President Prabowo Subianto. This social forestry certificate presentation is particularly special because it was distributed in IKN,” he said.
The presentation was also attended by IKN Authority Head Basuki Hadimuljono and East Kalimantan Governor Rudy Mas’ud. Together with Basuki, Raja Juli also conducted tree planting and reviewed the results of the second phase of Forest and Land Rehabilitation (RHL) maintenance in IKN.
