Forest fire haze affects visibility, BMKG Batam: do not burn land

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Hang Nadim Batam Class I Meteorological Station has highlighted a decline in visibility, which was originally 10 kilometres, to only 6 kilometres due to haze from a number of hotspots in the Riau Islands region. Forecaster at the Hang Nadim Batam Class I Meteorological Station, Fitri Anisa, appealed to the public not to discard cigarette butts carelessly, not to burn rubbish indiscriminately, and emphasised to irresponsible individuals that they must not burn land.
