A forest fire occurred in the Cipondoh Block, Cikawung Village, Terisi District, Indramayu Regency, on Friday (4/9/2026). The flames reportedly destroyed approximately five hectares of forest land.

The fire was first spotted around 10:00 WIB. Upon discovery, the TNI, through Koramil 1613/Terisi, acted swiftly to coordinate with the Cikawung Village Government, Perhutani Cikawung, and Yonif TP 889/GW to accelerate firefighting efforts and prevent the fire from spreading.

Extinguishing efforts were carried out jointly using water tankers and firefighting equipment located at the Yon TP construction site. Joint officers worked rapidly to suppress the flames, considering the dry forest conditions which posed a high risk of rapid spread.

Thanks to the alertness and synergy of all involved parties, the fire was successfully extinguished at approximately 11:15 WIB, after roughly 1.5 hours. Officers also conducted cooling operations to ensure the fire was completely out.

The Commander of Kodim 0616/Indramayu, Lieutenant Colonel Arm Tulus Widodo, expressed his appreciation for the promptness of the personnel on the ground and the synergy between the TNI, Perhutani, the village government, and other relevant agencies in handling the fire.

“We appreciate the rapid response of all personnel and related parties in managing the land fire in the Cipondoh Block. Synergy and speed of action are crucial to prevent the fire from spreading and causing a larger impact,” said Tulus.
