Forest Enforcement Task Force Seals Mining Operations of PT Mineral Trobos
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) has sealed the operational area of PT Mineral Trobos, a nickel mining company owned by businessman David Glen Oei.
The sealing was carried out due to allegations of illegal mining practices in forest areas in North Maluku Province.
“The task force team is working to enforce the law against unlawful or unauthorised forest area management across Indonesian forest zones, including in North Maluku,” said Satgas PKH Spokesperson Barita Simanjuntak in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.
Barita revealed the enforcement activities carried out by Satgas PKH, including reclamation of state control, collection of administrative fines, and asset recovery.
“Reclamation of state control is carried out in practice through the installation of signs indicating that the state has taken control through the task force,” he said.
He emphasised that the Satgas PKH team operates with a measured, accountable and transparent system in accordance with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 5 of 2025 on Forest Area Enforcement and other legal provisions.
“Currently, the task force is intensively conducting verification of all alleged violations of forest areas in the field,” he said.
Barita stated that Satgas PKH will take action against and enforce compliance for every violation, with the aim of protecting every legal business activity in Indonesia’s forest areas in accordance with Perpres No. 5 of 2025.
“Enforcement action as part of the task force’s authority will certainly be carried out carefully, meticulously and professionally,” he said.
The Satgas PKH was established through Perpres No. 5 of 2025, which was issued by President Prabowo Subianto two months after his inauguration.
The task force is tasked with conducting inspections and enforcement against natural resource-based business activities, ranging from forestry, plantations to mining.
