Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) has assured that the corruption case implicating former Special Crimes Assistant Attorney General (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah, who serves as the task force’s executive chairman, will not hinder its work.

At a press conference in Jakarta on Monday, Satgas PKH spokesman Barita Simanjuntak said the task force continues to adhere to the organisational principles set out in Presidential Regulation Number 5 of 2025 on Forest Area Enforcement.

“As also directed by the Defence Minister as the task force’s supervisor, the organisational principle is a regulated system ensuring that the achievement of targets under Perpres 5/2025 can be carried out properly,” said Barita.

He stressed that the organisational principle is not determined by individuals, but by good governance systems, and that legal mechanisms also exist within forest area enforcement.

In carrying out its three functions — seizure of forest areas under the presidential regulation, collection of administrative fines, and asset recovery in forest areas — he said the task force has so far operated smoothly.

Meanwhile, law enforcement matters are a separate domain handled and coordinated carefully and wisely by Satgas PKH.

Barita said law enforcement is the remit of law enforcement agencies and has been well coordinated, so it is not affected at all by current developments.

“Our legal principle does not depend on any individual or person, but on a management system regulated by the provisions of law. That is what we carry out as a form of organisational accountability that we can all see,” he said.

So far, Satgas PKH continues to hold regular meetings, including one on Monday morning, to discuss the optimisation, synchronisation, evaluation and implementation of the task force’s various duties.

The meeting, chaired by Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin as head of Satgas PKH, also discussed various organisational principles.

Previously, former Special Crimes Assistant Attorney General Febrie Adriansyah was named a suspect in an alleged corruption case related to coal governance that triggered power outages in Sumatra.

The Attorney General’s Office’s Assistant for Supervision (Jamwas), Rudi Margono, emphasised that his office would handle the alleged corruption case involving the former Jampidsus professionally and with legal certainty.

Rudi, who was recently appointed acting Jampidsus, said synergy with the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) in handling the case upholds the presumption of innocence.

“The synergy is to ensure that the handling of this case is truly professional and upholds the presumption of innocence, so there is certainty in its resolution,” Rudi said at a press conference in Jakarta on Saturday (11/7).

He explained that the synergy with Kortastipidkor concerns optimising the evidence and exhibits held by investigators.

At present, the exhibits and evidence gathered by Kortastipidkor investigators remain at the Metro Jaya Regional Police.

“The transfer (of exhibits) is awaiting coordination,” he said.

Kortastipidkor has transferred the handling of three cases involving FA to the Attorney General’s Jampidsus as a form of synergy.

The three cases concern alleged corruption and money laundering in coal procurement for power plants at PT Asabri and PT Krakatau Steel.
